Issuing, Redeeming, and Tracking "Packages"

Your fitness center sells packages of training classes. The golf pro sells practice or lesson packages. The Sommolier markets a flight of wine which can be poured at any time. Great! Your members are able to take advantage of a discounted price due to a bulk purchase. Tracking the packages, redeeming, and doing the accounting is usually not-so-great. Paper and pencil? Old School....

Jonas has a great module that categorizes a Sales Item as a package which allows the package to be issues right from the POS. Just as easily, they can be redeemed with a simple look up feature at the POS. The look up screen handy information like how many redemptions and dollar value of the original package. How many are left. Also a certificate number.

The back end of Jonas does some pretty nice book keeping, too. Track how many packages by category have been issued, redeemed, and outstanding. When the package is issued, the system will put the value in a holding account, then moved to revenue when redeemed.

Today I worked with a club that needs to pay commission based upon packages that are redeemed. The reporting tools make it easy to pull out this information and filtering for specific dates (they pay biweekly). Their providers are able to pull the information easily which is a great way for them to market to any members who have outstanding balances.
